Seventh grade students have an opportunity to practice their language skills in an immersive environment abroad. Students studying Mandarin are invited to travel to China. Two years ago in 2011, the 7th grade travellers joined a delegation of students from the Upper School on a trip through Beijing, Xian, Suzhou, Hagzhou, and Shanghai. Here is a video compiled by the Jianping Middle School in Shanghai which the students visited, as well as photo highlights from the trip.
This year’s 7th grade trip to China will include tours of the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, the Terracotta Warriors, Dragon Spine Terraces, Li River, Chinese Minority Villages, the Bund, and Huangpu River. Stay tuned for photos and video from their trip!
Students in the Middle School will also be traveling to Washington, D.C. (8th grade), Pinnacles National Monument (6th grade), and Puerto Rico (7th grade). Upper School students will be traveling to Cambodia, Vietnam, Ireland, as well as a number of domestic and local spots.
