Three French classes (the advanced courses) went to an event sponsored by the Cultural Services of the French Consulate for Bay Area high school students and organized by the San Francisco Film Society’s Youth Education Program. We saw the film “Sister” directed by Ursula Meier, and the film will be shown at the Oscars this year.
Last Monday, before the 2nd Presidential Debate, Athenian sophomores hosted a Mock Presidential Town Hall debate for the Upper School as part of their U.S. History studies.
The 6th grade spent the day learning about the world of possibilities available to them through technology. Exploring the emotional power of music, students tinkered around on Garage Band to generate pieces that elicit specific emotions.

Athenian’s Engineering Collective competed in the FIRST Robotics Silicon Valley Regional Competition in March. In this year’s challenge, Rebound Rumble, students built a robot that could shoot baskets while defending opponent robots.
The 7th grade examined poetry and then performed a chosen poem. These two students memorized their poems and delivered an emotive performance to their classmates and teachers.
